Eric Berry is a Joshua Tree-based documentary and street photographer whose work is rooted in a simple conviction: the most important photographs are the ones that could only have been made by someone who was truly present.
Over more than a decade of field work across 50+ countries, Eric has embedded himself in cultures, conflicts, and communities that most photographers only glimpse from a distance. His images have appeared in major media outlets including CNN and NBC — not because he chased the story, but because he stayed long enough for the story to find him.

His documentary practice is built on three principles: earn your access, honor your subject, and let the frame say what words cannot. He carries a Sony α7-series camera and the understanding that the gear is never the point.
He is based between Joshua Tree, California, and wherever his next assignment takes him.

Eric founded Photography Group Trips not as a business, but as an extension of his own practice. He didn't want to stop shooting to teach — he wanted to keep shooting alongside people who were serious about the work.
Every expedition he leads is one he would want to go on himself. The destinations are places he has researched, scouted, and in many cases already worked in. The itineraries are built around photographic opportunity, not tourist convenience.
What he offers isn't instruction in the traditional sense. It's proximity — to his experience, his process, his relationships on the ground, and his honest feedback on your work.
